Disco Masked Dancer
Masquerade-masked dancers groove under a spinning mirror ball in a neon club — a seamless 3D-rendered loop.
Disco Masked Dancer
Five masquerade-masked dancers groove on a lit checkerboard floor under a spinning mirror ball, swept by colored spotlights. The clip is a real-time 3D scene built in Three.js, rendered offscreen frame by frame through a headless WebGL browser and encoded to an H.264 video — an 8-second loop that plays seamlessly.
Each dancer is an articulated figure (hips → spine → chest → head, with hinged shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees) animated by a beat-synced groove: vertical bounce, weight-shifting hip sway, knee bends, head bob, and three arm styles — hands in the air, sequential waves, and one-arm pumps. Sequined PBR outfits and metallic carnival masks catch the moving lights.
The render pipeline pushes for a cinematic look:
| Technique | Effect |
|---|---|
| ACES filmic tone mapping | Film-like highlight roll-off and color |
| PBR materials + image-based lighting | Realistic sequins, skin, and metal masks |
| PCF soft shadows | Grounded contact shadows from a key light |
| Faceted mirror ball + 8 sweeping spotlights | Classic moving disco color |
| Unreal Bloom | Glow on lights, masks, and the dancefloor |
| Exponential fog | Atmospheric depth into the dark room |
